TTK farm, a place for KG children
TTK farm is not only the place of agriculture and the center of Nila Illam, it is also the place where, on Wednesday, a batch of KG children, by rotation, spends the day at the farm with their teachers and attenders. They enjoy the quiet place, playground, games, the animals and, during the hot season, the small swimming pool. It is a time of discovery for those small children who live in the city.
Holiday’s camps
Every year, the farm is full of life during the months of April and May, the time of Summer holidays. Around 600 to 900 children enjoy the place, by rotation on 4 weeks, full of happiness. Children of other organizations, Infant India, OM Shanti were also joining.

The central theme of the camps is changed every year, it was the “happiness in the games” in 2007; the respect in 2008 or the Education in 2009. From 2010, Volontariat diversifies the places of the camps around Pondicherry, so TTK receives less children during April and May.
SPRTTK is a unit for the production of Spirulina, a fruitful collaboration between Volontariat and Codégaz, linked to Gaz de France. The algae is grown in 4 tanks with an area of 250 m2. The first crop was made on January 2009 and the production, on average, is 25 to 30 kg per month. See the chapter on this website.
Natural dyeing: In order to diversify the products of Atelier Shanti in Europe and to sell in the fashion Bio markets, Volontariat, in 2008, started a workshop of natural dyeing, on small scale basis, at the farm. The objective was to prepare and test colors from different vegetal or mineral, dye a bio cotton thread and weave this cotton. The experiments didn’t allow us to get the same bright colors as with “chemical” dyeing, so Volontariat decided to stop the project.
